The problem

Monitoring wind data is deceptively complex

Wind measurement campaigns run for long periods and involve many small, repeated tasks: checking data availability, identifying issues, documenting events, and communicating status.

These tasks are important, but they are often handled using spreadsheets, scripts, and manual processes that do not scale well across multiple sites or teams.

  • Manual checks consume time without adding insight
  • Issues can remain unnoticed for too long
  • Knowledge is difficult to share or hand over
  • Reporting and documentation are inconsistent

Let’s fix that.

Monitoring wind data is deceptively complex

Why Enerlace

Built on experience in wind measurement and software

Enerlace was founded by Ines Würth and Andy Clifton, who together bring over 35 years of experience in wind energy, wind measurement, and wind lidar. They have contributed to — and in several cases directly developed — methods and processes that underpin the commercial use of wind lidar today.

I’ve spent twenty years chasing better wind data: snow research in the Swiss Alps, six years at NREL running met towers and the solar measurement group, and a decade helping set technical standards the wind lidar industry still uses today. I coordinated WindForS, southern Germany’s applied wind energy research cluster, before starting Enerlace in 2024 with Ines Würth. Now I lead sales and product here, building Moli to make sense of the data our industry collects, from raw device files through to clean exports ready for use. PhD from ETH Zürich.

I spent ten years at the University of Stuttgart’s wind energy chair — first as a researcher, then leading the test and measurement team — working on wind lidar measurement campaigns and coordinating national and international research projects, including as part of the IEA Wind Task 32 advisory board on lidar. I saw first-hand how much valuable knowledge stays stuck in academic drawers, and wanted to change that. I co-founded Enerlace in 2024 with Andrew Clifton to do exactly that: turn wind measurement expertise into software that actually gets used. I lead product development and keep the company running day-to-day. Dr.-Ing. from the University of Stuttgart.

How it works

How our monitoring solution works

Moli supports monitoring, alerting, reporting, and collaboration across wind measurement campaigns.

  1. Measure the wind
    01

    Measure the wind

Deploy your lidars, sodars, and met masts as normal.

  2. Send your data
    02

    Send your data

Forward your data emails to Moli, or configure the device to send data directly.

  3. Process your data
    03

    Process your data

Moli ingests, checks, and structures incoming measurements automatically.

  4. Manage your data
    04

    Manage your data

See your latest data, check the logbook, and download reports in your browser.

Collaboration

From individual projects to multi-user organisations

Moli is designed for hybrid teams working across offices and countries. Some of our customers now operate with ten or more active users in a single workspace.

It provides a shared view of wind measurement campaigns — data availability, quality indicators, and ongoing issues — without relying on manual checks, and supports structured data management across organisations.

  • Central overview of devices and campaigns
  • Consistent monitoring and reporting
  • Shared access for teams and stakeholders
  • Data sharing between organisations
  • Export to multiple data formats (coming soon)
