How you used to know us
In March 2023, a team of three experts – Ines Würth, Andy Clifton, and John Asher Rayan – was awarded an EXIST Founder’s Grant to develop apps for wind energy under the enviConnect brand. enviConnect was already a successful boutique consultancy at this time, helping bring innovations from research into use in the wind energy sector.
Why we decided to rebrand
To make sure that our apps team can follow business opportunities, and the consultancy team can continue to respond to their customers’ needs, we decided to split the enviConnect app and consultancy businesses from 1 January 2024.
enviConnect will continue to provide consultancy, and the apps are now provided by enerlace.

The meaning of the new brand
ernelace is a portmanteau of two words that are important to us:
- energy. Our goal is to help the global deployment of cheap and reliable renewable energy .
- Ada Lovelace. Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace, was a 19th century mathematician and writer, and pioneer of computer programming. Without her work we’d still be treating computers as fast calculators, as opposed to the flexible, programmable tools that they have become.
The significance of our new logo
We wanted a logo that’s adaptable and dynamic and shows our interests in winds over hills, in energy, and in movement.
How we chose our new name and brand
We worked with a Stuttgart-based professional to come up with the new brand. They took us through a lot of self-discovery, from understanding our offering and ideal customer profile, through to building the new corporate identity with logo, colors, and fonts.
We translated that corporate identity into a new website, product skins, and other applications.
What's different about us now?
We’ve got a tighter focus on products for automating common wind energy data management tasks. At first you’ll see products for wind lidar, but look out for other solutions coming soon!
What's staying the same?
We’re keeping the same core team, technical expertise, and wind lidar data monitoring products that we had under the enviConnect brand.
How will this affect our customers?
Our legal name is changing, so we’ll be updating our terms and conditions and other documents like contracts and NDAs.
We’ll be getting in touch with our customers about this in the next weeks. Alternatively, please contact us on info@enerlace.de to talk about this.
